Frequently Asked Questions

Will I understand the message, even if I don’t know much about the Bible?

Pastor Joey prepares each message with Biblical principles and teaches us how to apply them in every day life using humor and relevant illustrations. No matter your age, spiritual background, or where you are in your walk with Jesus, each message will be understandable and applicable to your life.

What if I come from a different faith background?

Cross River Church is a non-denominational church with a wide variety of faith backgrounds – Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, etc. Together, we focus on Biblical truth and teachings while pursuing an active relationship with Jesus Christ; You don’t have to be a member of a specific religious denomination to do that.  Click Here to see What We Believe.

Do I have to dress up?

At Cross River, you’ll see lots of people in jeans and khakis and not so many in suits and dresses, although there are some. You’re welcome to dress casually and come as you are!

Where are the hymnals?

The worship team and band lead us in upbeat songs of praise and intimate worship to God. Song lyrics are on the screen so that you can follow along and engage in worship even if you are not familiar with the song. We also post our Worship song list weekly on our church Facebook and Instagram, so that you are able to enjoy them ahead of time.

How do people at Cross River express worship?

Worship involves communicating with God from our hearts. We believe in a variety of different expressions in worshiping God. At Cross River, you are welcome to worship God in a way you feel expresses your heart toward Him. For some, that’s quietly reflecting on the words but for others, that’s clapping and singing out loud.

Movie clips, drama and videos in church?

Often, it’s helpful during a message to illustrate real life situations through a movie clip, a short dramatic painting or a music video.

Is there something for the Kids?

We have a wonderful Children’s program, birth through 5th grade. While parents are enjoying the service, their kids can have fun and learn about God on their level. Click here to learn more about our children’s ministry.
